The Office of Student Transition Experiences hosts a variety of events each quarter to support students throughout their time at Northwestern. Check out our events below for Spring.
Fall Quarter 2025
September 16: First Day of Class Photo Station
Join us on Deering Steps on Tuesday, September 16th for our annual First day of Class Photo Station. This is the perfect opportunity to snap a photo for your instagram or send a first day fit check home to your family. We will be on the steps from 11am-4pm with a special sweet treat from Coca-Cola that you won't want to miss! Be sure to check it out
September 19: URAP Unpacked
Join the Office of Student Transition Experiences and Office of Undergraduate Research on Friday, September 19th from 12-1pm in the Norris Lake Room for our URAP Unpacked event. Here we will chat through the Undergraduate Research Assistantship Program, how to engage with faculty, and a breakdown of the application process.
October 2: Basics of Banking and Budgeting
Join the Office of Student Transition Experiences and US Bank on Thursday, October 2nd from 6-7:30pm to learn tips for financial wellness. We’ll cover the basics of banking – including checking, savings, deposits and more – plus review the foundational activities and knowledge important for creating and managing your first budget.
October 10: Renting Declassified
Are you a student who is looking to live off campus next year or struggling with your current rental situation? Join Off Campus Life and Student Transition Experiences for our Renting Declassified event from 11am-12:30pm. This is a drop in event in Norris Wildcat Room. We will have a variety of campus and community partners there to talk with you about exploring Evanston and Chicago, knowing what to look out for in a lease, understanding your tenant rights, keeping your finances in shape, and learning to manage conflicts. We hope to see you there!
